Hey gang,
Here's a question for all you weekend wrenchers who have adjusted their own valve clearances: After removing the large slotted "inspection plug" on the port side of the engine, and looking at the bike straight on from that side (front wheel to the left) which direction do you turn the inside shaft-nut when lining up the notches for TDC ? The Suzuki factory manual says counterclockwise, and the Clymer manual says clockwise. I don't know if it really makes a difference, but thought I'd check your opinions anyway before I jive something up by turning it the wrong way. And, any other recommendations/ideas/general experiences info on doing these valve adjustments would be greatly appreciated before I rock in to the project. Looks like it'll be fun !!
